News has it that the pond in Pet Society now has 10 new breeds of fish swimming about. Some of them will require us to use specific bait to get while others are not so complicated to catch. Shown in my previews Pet Society related update are images which would purportedly show all the fish in the game although some are not yet available at posting time. It would seem that Play Fish will be releasing a new breed weekly to keep us coming back to the pond. Despite this arrangement, I’m already, shall we say, “hooked.”
Encircled below are 10 new things to look forward to catching, as mentioned: Octopus, Blowfish, Piranha, Blue Ram, Green Discus, Dogfish, Strawberryfish, Lemonfish, Bananafish, and Cheesefish.
Since some of fish have very “sensitive” diet, collated below are effective baits used by either me or the thousands of users in the Pet Society to help you bag the fish of your dreams, both new and rare.
- Octopus: Homegrown Orange, Homegrown Cupcake, Homegrown Coconut, Homegrown Banana, and Cheese. It was also said that the Octopus is not a hard thing to get. You may use any bait and still get one.
- Blowfish: Lemon, Strawberry, and Pumpkin. The Blowfish is also relatively easy to catch with any bait.
- Piranha: Rare Steak. With it’s reputation of being a carnivore, it makes complete sense that only rare steak can bag you a Piranha.
- Blue Ram: Strawberry and Grape. It seems to like fruits a lot, yes? The Blue Ram is a fairly easy fish to catch, too.
- Green Discus: Strawberry, Lemon, and Pink Donut. Record has it that you may also catch the Green Discus with just about any foot item.
- Dogfish: Rare Steak, Strawberry, Leek, Apple, Cheese, and Donut. Not to be confused with the Puppyfish, the Dogfish in Pet Society looks like a shark. From the testimony of players, looks like you can get the Dogfish with any bait but probability of getting may be lower.
- Strawberryfish, Lemonfish, Bananafish, Cheesefish: You can tell what it eats by the name. There’s a greater chance of getting the Bananafish when you use the Homegrown Banana, though.
While I’m looking forward to the new rods, Catfish, Red Salmon, Spotted Bass, Golden Butterfly Fish, Schooling Bannerfish, and Clownloach which may only come out in future game updates, I’m not so keen on the “food” fish that are to come in the coming weeks. I dread them, actually LOL

That means you already caught 5 Octopus. We can only accommodate 5 of every kind in our chest. Unless they are “rubbish” items. Check your chest and you will see 5 there. Looks it that Pet Society capped them at 5 and we can’t get any more. I also initially wanted 50 Silver Arowanas hehe

yes i have 5 octupus but everytime i throw some food in i sometimes get an octupus so i waste money on food to throw the octupus back in !!!!!!!!!!!1

Hahaha! We all get that. I also hate the fact that even if we get a soda can, a bike wheel, a conch shell or anything that’s not alive, while in the water, they all attempt to escape. Aren’t they inanimate? Or can corals and messages in bottles now muster enough brain activity to struggle and move and escape once caught? Hahahaha. I’ve been wondering that all this time LOL

Same here. I think I’ve thrown in around 60+ rare Steak to get my one and only Piranha. I’m still trying to get my 2nd. I buy 30 Rare Steaks a day and still I have only one :(

Anybody caught a clam with a pearl??? I just caught one, just can’t remember what I caught it with but when I was fishing I was using these things: grapes, pumpkin, chocolate soft serve, strawberry doughnut & a strawberry. Just wish I could remember what the bait was when I caught it!

I caught 2 red salmons with melon.
You can pretty much get most of the fishes with melon (in fact, all except the special ones like lemon n strawberry n banana n cheese n all those vege/fruit fishes)

Just a while ago i caught a chocolate donutfish, i was hopeless that time thinking ” i’ll never have a choco- donutfish and on my first try = i caught it!
i also have wasted many apples for applefish. Now i caught it with my first try! =) im off to get strawberry fish

You may want to refer to the weekly updates I do for the related bait. They’re right at the end of the posts (there are links there, hopefully). Just the same: lemon fish (lemon), macaron fish (not out yet), catfish (milk, the white one), watermelon fish (whole watermelon, not sliced), strawberry fish (strawberry, very hard to catch), strawberry donut fish (obviously, duh!), sea horse (carrot, also very hard to catch), cupcake fish (homegrown cupcake), cheese fish (cheese, relatively hard to catch), banana fish (homegrown banana), and apple fish (regular apple from the store, also very hard to catch). There you go. Next time, please read about the related bait on my weekly PetSociety updates. Thanks!

only a strawberry donut fish can get you a strawberry donut. That’s a fact. It does NOT mean, though, that every time you use a strawberry donut, you will always get a strawberry donut fish. That’s where your luck will kick in.

My friend got her strawberry donut fish on her first try, chocolate donutfish on her 4th, watermelon on her 1st, coconut on her 1st, strawberry onn her 5th, and i have to try like 30+ times to get mine D: But i got my cheesefish on my third try and she hasnt got hers yet(:

Pauline…. several posts up I posted I had caught a clam with a pearl using a carrot, It just depends on if you’re meant to catch it or not I guess, i’ve caught it more than once but using other food items also. I just caught my first elephantnose fish with a soft pretzel WHOOO!

Ok ive got the apple fish like on my 20th try, the lemon fish on first, and the pretzel fish on 6th….but ive bought like 40 bananas and cant catch a banana fish! and i bought like 50 carrots and cant get a sea horse! and like 45 cheeses and cant get a dumb cheese fish!!!!

Hi everyone, I tried 18 times fishing with birthday cake and I finally got the birthday cake fish. You can see it if you visit my profile on the first screen.
How I caught it? I used the same birthday cake for all 18 tries, when you catch an unwanted fish, close the browser very very quick and when you come back, your birthday cake will still be there.
Then try again, and again, and again :)

i have all the fish becuase i have fishing pro stuff and there are new rods like bamboo rod and basic rod and pink basic rod but you need to catch 500 fish to get the bamboo rod 1000 fish to get the basic rog and 2000 to get the pink basic rod and i got 499 fish one more and i get a bamboo rod yahoo also to catch the cat fish is milk and i couat a bannana fish and orange fish and cocunut fish to get a mola mola is u need any bait but you need to wear the pro fishing stuff to get that.
