Let’s Celebrate the Death of TV on July 2!

Flippish.com will officially launch on July 2, 2009 with a party and the very bold battle cry, “Television is Dead.” I’m sure friends from networks ABS-CBN, GMA, and TV5 will have a field day bashing the claim but with a batting average of one original feature short published daily in flippish.com, this online video channel is fast growing to be the formidable source of entertainment in the Internet scene for lokal cyber junkies. I personally go to flippish.com to satisfy my LOL cravings, slapstick or otherwise.

I’m not giving the site a two thumbs up with this pimpage just because I’ve been in two of their shows (for like five seconds each time for Mensa Day and the other for the iBlog5 Summit held on April this year) or that I’m good friends with Kring Elenzano. You may try and experience the videos yourself and I’m sure you’ll agree that the stuff they feature (my ultimate favorite among them is a video short where the actors did their thing inside an elevator) are all of truly top notch quality (in the direction, production, and post-prod arena). That and they only either use royalty-free or original music in their productions.

If you want to be part of this momentous event in Pinoy online video channel history, sign up on this page or visit Flippish.com for more details.

My congratulations go to Chris Tan, Managing Director of Ideal Minds (the production outfit behind flippish.com), and his talented team for making the brilliant concept that is flippish.com happen.

I hope their streaming isn’t too heavy. You know how slow our internet is.

That’s a valid observation to point out, Karen. I’d usually give other streaming sites a 2-minute head start to buffer. Flippish, however, takes around 30 on an average for an under-5 minute clip via my Broadband home connection. I’m blaming the highdef compression, but still.

    THANK YOU SO MUCH, FRITZ!!!

Also, we’re definitely working on the streaming problems that viewers encounter at time. Thank you for informing us about this and I hope in a few days or so (OR NOW), that bug (or maybe not lolz) will be fixed.

    *hugs*

    SEE YOU ON THE 2ND!!!

Hey Fritz! Thanks for the shoutout. i was wondering about your reply to Karen when u wrote, “…Flippish, however, takes around 30….”

When you wrote 30, did u mean, 30 seconds, or 30 minutes?

Thanks for your support and See you guys at the launch!

Hi Chris! At first I thought mine was an isolated case. Last night I viewed your latest Direk Audition Special and midway through the stream, it got cut. I refreshed my page and chose to download the clip this time (it’s 39.9 Mb, BTW) but still, about 45% through, the connection went dead giving me a partially saved clip on my HD. I’m trying to DL the file now from *elsewhere* and the timer read 38 minutes for the entire file to finish. :D I’m thinking it’s something your host server should resolve, I dunno. This is just a hunch. See you there, Chris!
