I won’t be posting some redundant video footage taken from the concert where Chicane, an electronica dance act, is performing onstage because I bet there are already lotsa those by now on YouTube. In 3gp format! Sheesh! Anyway, when I was asked if I wanted to make a vlog out of Chicane’s presscon, I instantly got giddy with the thought of being in a room with lots of cameras flashing and videocams a-rolling. Came presscon night, there were several flashes, alright, but there was only one videocam, not counting ours. LOL

The concert, brought here by BigFish, was packed notwithstanding the costly ticket price of P1,500 a pop. The crowd continued to party with high energy despite two major disruptions owing to technical boohoos. Chicane continued with their performance each time soon after the stage crew plugged them back in. They played tracks off their previously released and latest albums. After their main set, the band indulged the audience’s request for an encore and performed “No Ordinary Morning,” their most popular hit in the Philippines per Helga. They also performed “Offshore” and “Don’t Give Up” that night, among others.

During a segment, I LOLed at Natasha Brocklebanks (vocals) when she raised her arms and said, “you should smell me right now… *laughs* … what a lady.”

Experiencing the concert was a perfect way to end a stressful week: fun event, groovy music, fantastic crowd, and great company. We can’t thank Nikka Abes of Nokia Philippines and Alexei Villaraza enough for the invites. You guys are awesome!
