Time flies as the Philippine Blog Awards (PBA) happens next Sunday, September 21, 2008, at One Esplanade at the SM Mall of Asia. As a background, the PBA is now in its second year of giving recognition to the country’s notable blogs in their respective niches.

“With topics ranging from the arts, culture, technology and politics, Filipinos have become more abreast because of the fast growing blogging industry here and abroad. The Philippine Blog Awards is a venue to showcase notable blogs with quality content that engages readers from around the globe.
Now on its second year, the Philippine Blog Awards continues to recognize Filipino blogging talent from around the world. This year, the awards extends its reach towards network blogs written by Filipinos, blogs written by mainstream media practitioners as well as local corporations that use blogs are effective communication tools.” (from the PBA’s “About” page)
Soon, and hopefully by today (September 15th), the final list of nominated blogs for the Best Blog and Best Single Post Divisions will be shown in the PBA website for us all to ogle over. Nominated blogs had been tallied and judging by an able group of very qualified judges is already in progress.
What else is there for the blogging public to do, then? There’s a category called the Bloggers’ Choice Award wherein Filipino bloggers from all over can vote for their favorite (just one) by way of a blog entry. Mechanics on how to go about this is at the bottom of the page in this link. I already made my vote so what are you still waiting for? Make your vote count and let the deserving blog win!
There’s one other category which the public can participate in: the Nokia Special Awards. Better, deadline for submission of entries has been EXTENDED to September 19, 2008! Here’s how: “Produce a video of how you connect with others using mobile technology.” Prizes at stake are 3 Nokia mobile phones, one for each of the first, second, and third most outstanding/originally produced videos! w00t!
To get a chance to be among the 200 guests in this prestigious event, bloggers will need to register here as only 200 can be accommodated by the limited capacity of One Esplanade.
Best of luck to the nominated blogs and I’ll be there so see you at the 2008 Philippine Blog Awards!

Don’t we all, man. And I was led to believe I’ll get PSG’s round the clock protection with our votes. Promises, pfffft, just empty promises as always. And, oh, our campaign may have lost but we definitely put up a good fight. Mike Villar for the win!

Thanks master aajao. It’s a great honor and pleasure to be lined up against those guys. It makes non-winning pretty much acceptable and natural :D until next year!
