Wearing the new Pro Fishing Vest “will give you a greater chance of catching the fish you need,” claimed the Pet Society Blog. Not only that, wear the hat and glove together with the vest and “you will be able to catch five very special bonus fish.” A good enough incentive, yes? The entire collection is worth 50 Cash Coins from the Cash Shop. Expensive, I know! Is it just me or did the glove just become stupid? I’ve been reeling in fish after 3 stops this time instead of the average 2. Am I missing something here, PlayFish? 15CC for this stupid crap that doesn’t deliver the ability it promised?!
Special Bonus Fish you can catch by wearing the complete Pro Fishing Gear (use the cheapest bait available): 1. Masked Butterflyfish, 2. Flying Fish, 3. Coelacanth, 4. Mola Mola, and 5. Longbill Spearfish. This week’s regular fish is the 6. Jack O’ Lanternfish. Reel the Jack in with a Homegrown Pumpkin or Halloween Cake.
The Pro Fishing Vest, IMHO, puts an end to all our fishing woes because you won’t find your pet throwing out fish you already have five of. Why? Because you won’t catch them anymore. No more wasted bait. No more long hours of hoping that luck comes our way to get that rare Seahorse, Cheesefish, Applefish, or Pirranha. Sounds too good to be true but the Pro Fishing Gear also has its quirks:
1. If you do not have five of a certain species of fish either in your chest or on display, you can still catch that kind of fish. The vest’s powers will only help you not catch more than five of a certain kind. If you already have 4 Seahorse, you may still catch one. If you already have 5, you won’t catch it anymore.
2. Special baits are still needed to catch special fish. If you want to get that last Seahorse to complete your set of five, for example, you won’t catch it if you use an apple or a lemon. Still, you will have to use the carrot (the only bait you can use to catch a Seahorse). Same goes for all fish that require a “special” bait.
3. If all you need are special fish (if you already have 5 of each of the fish in your chest or on display) OR if you already have all species of fish and you are using the wrong bait, you will NOT be able to reel in the catch even if something’s tugging on your line. Remember, with all three gear, you won’t be able to reel in junk and you can’t get more than 5 of a certain kind of fish. Some people call it glitch when in fact, it isn’t. It’s pure and simple logic. What you can do is tug on your line when the fish is struggling to let it go and escape with the bait.

Yes, it’s true! You don’t need the fish biscuit from the cash shop to get the teddyfish. The pet drake does the job too. But are you willing to sacrifice it?

Also, you can sacrifice your petdrake if you want a teddyfish so bad, just reload/restart the game if your petdrake catches trash or another kind of fish. ;)

LOL you can’t unless you are in a country where there are surveys you can answer within PetSociety that will grant those who can answer with free playfish cash once they accomplish a questionnaire or sign up for a service. I think they have one in Indonesia as such feature is country-dependent. I’m not sure where else they have em.
