If we all can be extra vigilant, I think we’d strike it rich by joining contests on the Internet. He’s another example: Crocs‘ Online Video Challenge dubbed “Crazy4Crocs.” The prizes aren’t so bad either. Get a chance to win a Canon Powershot A470 for winning the weekly challenge and P100,000 for the monthly challenge. The catch: best all other online video submissions for the week or month by submitting YouTube video links of your video entry (yes, you will have to upload them at YouTube) to the crazy4crocs site (and yes, you will have to register at crazy4crocs). Now as I’ve gathered, there will be a different weekly theme each week as there will be different monthly theme each month (visit the crazy4crocs site again for the updated themes and deadlines). Weekly themes are different from monthly themes so specify which contest you will want to join. There’s no purchase necessary in order to join. The contest is open to all Filipinos aged 18 and above. The current themes are as follows:

WEEKLY CHALLENGE:
Week 2: (September 14, 2009 – September 21, 2009) “Talk in a foreign accent”
Instructions: Do a convincing Frenchman or Scot? Strike up a conversation while using a foreign accent.

MONTHLY CHALLENGE:
MONTH 1 (September 2009 – November 2009) “Bring out the star in you”
Instructions: Share your talents and quirks with the world. Put on your best performance inside a Crocs store. Sing, dance, put on a costume, do whatever—it’s all up to you.

Darnit, I should have taken a video of Kring while she did her best Thai accent while talking to local food vendors in Bangkok. Almost shouting-ly, she’d talk to them like: “WHE can I BUY CRI-KHÉ… you know… GRASS-HOPPAH… or WAUM…” (with matching wiggly finger gesture emulating a worm in heat or something like that). That should win BIG TIME, I bet.

P100,000 is still P100,000 and winning might propel you to superstardom, knowing how it is that Pinoys love the limelight too so much.
