At the rate I’m going with entries Pet Society related, and seeing how good I am at giving very useful updates, I might as well make this a PS blog altogether, yes? LOL Here I am again with another round up on the fishing update as of August 7, 2009 showcasing new fish and how to easily get them by providing you bait trends based on my and other PS gamers’ experience. More pics and bait tips after the jump.
It seems they’ve renamed the “Muffin Fish” to “Cupcakefish” when it finally came out so please bear with the artwork. All in all, there are ten (10) new fish plus one other item, the “Blue Sea Urchin Shell.” The new fish, as seen highlighted in the photo above are: Spotted Bass, Golden Butterflyfish, Schooling Bannerfish, Clown Loach, Orangefish, Cupcake Fish, Love Fish, Sheep Fish, Chocolate Fish, and the Chocolate Donutfish.
Based on bait experience, both mine and others’, you can get these new fish by using any, some, or all of the following baits:
- Spotted Bass: Grapes, Broccoli, Watermalon Slice, Strawberry, Cheese, Apple, Rare Steak
- Golden Butterflyfish: Strawberry, Grapes, Cheese, Lemon, Pizza Slice, Melon, Watermelon Slice, Banana, Rotten Vegetable
- Schooling Bannerfish: Pink Donut, Lemon, Rare Steak, Apple, Grapes, Strawberry, Watermelon Slice
- Clown Loach: Lemon, Grapes, Cheese, Chocolate Donut, Watermelon Slice, Pink Donut, Broccoli, Rare Steak, Strawberry
- Orange Fish: Homegrown Orange
- Cupcake Fish: Homegrown Cupcake
- Lovefish: Strawberry, Cheese, Broccoli, Grapes, Melon, Lemon, Pink Donut, Watermelon Slice, Courgette, Chocolate Donut, Carrot (contributed byEvilcookie33 from a comment)
- Sheepfish: Carrot, Lemon, Strawberry, Banana, Chocolate, Apple, Broccoli, Cauliflower, Chocolate Donut, Grapes, Leek, Rotten Vegetable, Watermelon Slice
- Chocolate Fish: Chocolate Heart (warning: this bait costs 250 coins from the food store. Expensive!)
- Chocolate Donutfish: Chocolate Donut
Looks like the Lemon is an almost all around bait, from the trend enumerated above. As always, since the fish you are to catch can be so random, it may take a while to get the fish of your choice using the suggested baits so be patient. They will come.
Red Salmon and Catfish, wherefore art thou? Also, everyone’s been wondering when the Bamboo Rod, Basic Rod, and Pink Basic Rod will show up and what can their “super powers” be LOL. Hopefully by next week’s update we’ll have our answer but for now, happy fishing!

You can catch red salmon fish, i know because my mom has one, i think she used a leek, broccoli or carrot, that’s all she uses

you could also use a whole watermelon to catch a sheepfish.

Although it is more expensive than other food, you only get fish using milk as bait. Yay!

I feel you elainor i’ve used like 60 or even80 lemons to catch my cute little lemonfish. By the way, That was the last fish i had to catch to complete them all, and now i did Yehey =)
And Marshmallow, There are no announcements about the macaron fish, they’re not out yet. Wait for further announcements. If they release it im off to catch it

Not true. I’m Level 47 and I have 1M++ Paw Points yet I oftentimes get more junk using cheaper food. It all boils down to the randomness of the exercise and luck.
